Wildcat Nation Welcomes Dr. Johnson!

March 2021

Welcome Johnson Family!

Our Board of Education has selected Dr. Merlyn Johnson as the next superintendent. Dr. Johnson will officially begin on July 1, replacing Dr. Richard Asbill. Dr. Johnson is currently serving as the superintendent of St. James School District in St. James, Missouri.

Dr. Johnson and his wife, Amy, have two daughters, Alyssa, a sophomore at Missouri State University and Reagan, a second grader. The Johnson family is excited about relocating to Cassville and meeting the people in our community and district.

Our Board of Education has selected Mrs. Mindi Gates to serve as the principal at Eunice Thomas Elementary and Mrs. Lisa Schell to serve as the assistant principal at our primary and intermediate buildings. Both Mrs. Gates and Mrs. Schell will begin their new positions July 1, 2021.

Our Board of Education has selected Mr. Darren Rhea to serve as the Middle School Principal and Mrs. Samantha Cosper to serve as the Middle School Assistant Principal to begin during the 2021-22 school year. Both Mr. Rhea and Mrs. Cosper will transition to their new role July 1 of this year.

Pictured, Sophomore Annie Moore and Senior Zach Coenen made wildcat history last week during the Missouri Wrestling Championship. Both athletes earned first place at the state tournament making them our first ever state champion wrestlers!

Preschool, Kinder Academy and Kindergarten Registration:

Preschool screening for three and four year old children is scheduled for April 20 and April 22. Click here for details.
Kinder Academy and Kindergarten screening is April 19 and April 21. All kindergarten age-eligible students, 5 years old by July 31, should be screened. Click here for details.
