We are looking for a Research and Analyst Intern to join our team. This position may grow into a full-time role. In this role, you will: Research and provide literature reviews on various local energy market/microgrid/distributed energy/blockchain topics. Support the research team in writing research articles/blogs. Take ownership of various documents and provide requested edits before publication. Work with sales and research team to consider new features and document feature requirements. Simulation data analysis. Other research tasks.
Start date: as soon as possible
Duration: at least 3 months, paid

Skills Required:
Degree in electrical engineering, economics, or environmental science, with a focus on the energy sector; Ideally graduate student or has a Masters degree already.
2 years experience authoring blogs or scientific articles; writing project/grant proposals is a plus
Proficiency (2+ years) in the Python programming language. Able to run and edit scripts, and analyse results to report on simulation scenario experiments
Native English speaker
Availability on at least a 20 hour/week basis for remote work

McGill SURE Program
Canada
The SURE program was established to provide undergraduate students with early exposure to the research environment offered in the Faculty of Engineering, McGill University. Within the Faculty’s various research facilities and labs, students work closely with academic researchers and graduate students on a specified project for a period of 16 weeks in the summer months. To enhance the SURE experience, a number of workshops are designed to expose students to the variety of research activities across the Faculty, and to teach them how to construct and present their research findings. At the end of the program, SURE students participate in the Research Poster Presentation, where they present their research conclusions to a panel of referees, faculty members, parents, peers, staff, our industrial partners and donors, and the McGill community.
