Silent Prayer Time Available During Holy Week
I am offering time available to people who would like to have a short silent prayer time in the Sanctuary two days during Holy Week.
Holy Tuesday, March 30 from 3:00pm – 4:30pm
Maundy Thursday, April 1 from 1:00pm – 3:00pm
If you are interested in a 15 minute private prayer time in the sanctuary,
please sign up by emailing the church office by Monday, March 29.
I will be present near the red doors, and if you would like, I can pray for you as well at that time. Or you can simply spend the time in quiet prayer.
You may come with a family member if you choose.
Please remember to wear a mask.
“ Create in me a clean heart, oh God, and put a new and right spirit within me.
Do not cast me away from your presence, and do not take your holy spirit from me.”
(Psalm 51: 10 – 11)
God’s peace,
Pastor Kathryn

Second Mile Giving
“Second-mile giving” refers to an extra offering toward a special cause. Our second mile giving for March goes to ELCA World Hunger. By providing immediate relief to those who are hungry, ELCA World Hunger meets basic needs and recognizes the universal human right to food. But ending hunger is about more than food. By connecting people with the resources they need to produce food and gain access to clean water, education, health care and sources of income, long-term, sustainable change can be accomplished.
Offering can be given through Tithe.Ly or mailed to the Church Office at 504 Baker St.
*If donating to Second Mile Giving, please note "2nd Mile: Hunger" in your preferred offering method. Thanks!

Good-Bye Drive By for Chuck and Pam Wolf
Tuesday, March 30 from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m.
241 Liberty Road, Petaluma
Chuck and Pam Wolf will be moving to San Diego on April 8. Their participation at Elim, our Tanzanian Mission trips and SIRS will be missed by many. We are planning a good bye/good luck, God's blessings drive-by on Tuesday, March 30 from 2-3 p.m. Their address is 241 Liberty Road, Petaluma, CA 94952. Their driveway is circular and expansive so you will be able to stay in your car, talk for a few minutes and continue on. The length of your visit will depend on how many other folks are there to greet them. Chuck and Pam will be on their front porch to greet you. They know of this "drive-by" and look forward to seeing many of their Elim and SIRS friends.
If you have any questions please email Nancy L. Clarke or call 707-545 2845.

No More Paper/Plastic Bags Needed
Thank you to all who have donated bags so generously! As the Interfaith Pantry is no longer pre-bagging food we are not in need of paper or plastic bags at this time. Please do not leave any at the church or office, so we can avoid a fire hazard. We have taken most of our accumulated stock to Hillside Church where they are pre-bagging at their pantry. You are welcome to take your bags to Hillside Church at 2689 Old Adobe Road. Thank you!

ELCA Statement on anti-Asian Racism
We have watched with horror recent news reports of attacks on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders – fueled by racist rhetoric which has attempted to lay blame for the cause of the Coronavirus on Asian Peoples. The Conference of Bishops, meeting on March 4, voted to affirm the “Statement on Anti-Asian Racism,” and to encourage the congregations and leaders of our synods to take action. Please consider the points of encouragement in the statement as ways your congregation or ministry can stand in solidarity with our Asian and Pacific Islander siblings. Thank you.
Peace,
Bp. Mark
