Good Morning,
This week we had a successful reopening for all of our in-person learners. Teachers used the time to migrate Blue and Green Google Classroom sections together, review new seating assignments, review revised protocols and acclimatize students to being in school with full classrooms. As I walked around the school and dropped into classrooms I saw many teachers engaging students in get to know you activities and SEL activities that involved playing Kahoot, bottle flip challenges and discussions around how students felt prior to the return and how they feel after.
The most glaring item that needed to be addressed was afternoon parent pickup. After Wednesday and Thursday, it was evident that the plan needed to be updated and it needed to be clearly communicated. As a result, I sent an email blast on Thursday evening to all families with a newly articulated plan (if you didn’t see the email, you can access the plan here: Afternoon Parent Pick Up Plan). I thought that pick up went much smoother on Friday so thank you to everyone that read and followed the plan. This is proof that when we communicate and work together to make change, we can overcome any challenge.
The district has released the middle school plan for full in-person reopening. Please click on the following link to view: The Phase V: Return to 100% in Person for Hybrid Model Students—Middle School Plan.

Celebrating World Down Syndrome Day

Please help us celebrate and show your support by having your children wear their silliest mismatched socks or wear the colors yellow and blue! Wearing mismatched socks reminds us to celebrate the things that make us each unique!
