Hello, Friends
What a week it's beem so far. The mornings have felt a bit too early, energy has been low, and I've been trying to reconcile a love for sports with what can happen when the success of an athletic program is prioritized over all else.
One thing remains true: running helps. Early mornings made better by the friends joining in. Endorphins that kick in after you managed to just get your feet out the door. And those solo miles that give space to sort out heavy topics or to escape them through the meditative repitition of your footfall.
This month, we bring you a lineup of races, news about club buffs, a check in on trails, and, of course, the month's Link Up.
See you out there,
-Abby

Be Still, My Racing Heart
While the jitters and jostling of mass starting lines are still a ways off, here are a few racing opportunities in the next few months that just may be the jumpstart of motivation you've been craving. Most of these are local races, organized by local runners and organizations who have been working hard to continue the racing spirit in a way that is safe for our community.
Am I ready to run the Mac50K? No comment.
Am I ready for the return of races? ABSOLUTELY.

TRAIL CHECK
As the weather improves and more users flock to the trails, take a moment to update yourself on the OSU trail etiquette.
Additionally, with the storms we had in the last couple of months, there may still be downed trees on trails. If you come across any, follow the OSU Forests- reporting downed trees process:
- Notify the forest staff
- Explain the issue. Describe the situation and type of hazard in as much detail as possible
- Report the location. If possible, take a GPS coordinate of your location or use trail names and road numbers to provide a specific location
- Take a picture-- pictures can provide staff important information about the situation and determine what tools will be needed to solve the issue
- Include your own contact information so staff can reach you if more information is needed

HOTV Weekly Runs
With Benton County currently in the High Risk category for COVID-19, if you meet up with others for runs, be sure to mask up and practice physical distancing.
We can't wait for the day when all of our group runs can come back in full force.
