How can I help Stanford?
Children's Book Network
NEW Writing Course in Stanford Thursday 8th April to Sunday 11 April
Writing Life – Writing Mentoring with a difference

Those who attend my very informal writing courses end up asking for more – particularly more mentoring and help with ideas and motivation. That has always happened. Now I am offering this service for people who don’t have time to sit round my table and enjoy three focused days of writing diversions (and we never stick to the course notes, only use them as a guide.) For more information on this, please contact me at:

lesley@lesleybeake.co.za
The next sit-round-the-table course will be between Thursday 8th April when we meet to get to know each other over a glass of something, until Sunday 11 April when we traditionally close after coffee and apple-pie!

Children's Book Network
We are continuing the year-long supply of reading material, reading activities and books in our book club. We have also (cautiously, and with all Covid protocols in place) started a monthly workshop to back up what the children are working on remotely. This month, it was on colours and included painting with acrylic on boards to say thank you to everyone who has supported this work. The reading was related to colours and art, and the reading packs will continue the theme at home.
It is very clear that the young people in our community need more of this kind of activity – need it most desperately.  We aim to continue with the children we already work with – and expand to other groups to encourage a love of reading in the age group 10-12 years-old.

For more information, please go to our annual report for 2020 at:
