The Vision of Faith Formation: Four-Part Virtual Series for FFLs
This four-part monthly series will help you discern what faith formation could look like in your parish, and how to get there. Each segment of the series will be offered two times --- on a Tuesday morning and a Thursday afternoon --- to provide opportunities that fit your schedule. Please plan to attend these virtual gatherings, and invite/encourage your pastor to attend as well. Due to your feedback, we will offer an optional extended 30-minute discussion time after each presentation for you to share your thoughts, questions, and ideas with one another.

The Faith Formation Team invites you to SAVE THE DATE for our Fall FFL Day: "Setting Hearts On Fire!" This day will be a chance for you to gather with other Faith Formation Leaders, to gain new insights, share your wisdom, and pray together. The event is open to Faith Formation Leaders, Pastors, and all in parish or school ministry who help others to grow in their faith. This event will be offered in a hybrid format, with participants joining either in-person at St. Mary Church in Waverly, or virtually. More information and registration coming soon.

Cycle 4 registration is now open, and closes on May 12. 
Cycle 4 courses run from May 16 - June 19, 2021.

The Archdiocese of Dubuque participates in Newman Ministry’s high school outreach program, called Newman Connection. This ministry connects 2021 grads to college campus ministries across the United States, and we want all of our parishes and Catholic high schools to participate. You will be receiving an email from Newman Ministry in the near future, inviting you to participate. The Year of St. Joseph
On the 150th Anniversary of the Proclamation of St. Joseph as "Patron of the Universal Church," Pope Francis has proclaimed a "Year of St. Joseph," with his apostolic letter Patris Corde ("With a Father's Heart"). During this year, the pope invites us to:
          * increase our love for St. Joseph.
          * implore his intercession.
          * imitate his virtues and zeal.

TOTUS TUUS UPDATES
Missionary Update:  Totus Tuus 2021 is scheduled to begin training in just over a month.  We have hired several missionaries, but we are still in need of a few in order to serve all the parishes who have requested teams. Please continue to pray that enough college-aged men and women will apply and accept the offer.  Specific updates to parishes will be coming out soon.

March 19, 2021 (the Feast of St. Joseph) marked the five-year anniversary of the release of Pope Francis’ Apostolic Exhortation on Marriage and Family Life entitled Amoris Laetitia (“The Joy of Love”). To celebrate this anniversary, Pope Francis has declared a Year of the Amoris Laetitia Family from March 19, 2021 through June 26, 2022 when the World Meeting of Families will take place in Rome. National Catholic Youth Conference (NCYC)
We are currently preparing the teens and adults of the Archdiocese of Dubuque for a trip to NCYC in November of 2021. Our Archdiocesan package will cost $695 per person this year. That cost may go down if COVID-19 mitigation efforts can be reduced. In order to form a group, you must first sign up as a Group Leader. Archdiocese of Dubuque IMPACT Formation Program for Adults
Do you thirst for a more intimate relationship with God? Do you hunger for increased knowledge of the Catholic faith? Do you desire to make a greater IMPACT in your parish and community? Through spiritual reading, dynamic presenters, engaging discussion, prayer experiences, and personal reflection, participants will be challenged to respond more fully to Jesus’ call to mission—to IMPACT our world! Embracing Inclusion Conference: FIRE Foundation of Northeast Iowa
Tuesday, August 10    8:30 AM - 3:00 PM
The FIRE Foundation of Northeast Iowa is pleased to present an inclusive education conference for principals, teachers, faith formation leaders, catechists, and parents who are committed to creating and strengthening K-12 inclusive learning opportunities. Cost is $35 (+ tax) for Parents and $60 (+ tax) for Teachers and Faith Formation Leaders. Learn more about this event and register HERE. Registration deadline is July 8, 2021.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month
How can your parish members give hope to those who live with mental illness?
* Prayer: Pray for the concerns of persons with mental illness, their families and those who care for them. Prayer resources for Mental Health Month are available here
* Bring Awareness: Many of your friends, family members, and co-workers will have a form of mental illness at some time in their lives. Check out the newest resources from the National Catholic Partnership on Disability (NCPD) regarding mental illness.

Nominate Your Parish/School for the 2021 Inclusion Award!
Any Parish/School/College in the archdiocese which advocates for inclusivity of persons with disabilities is eligible to receive the Embracing Inclusion award. Awards will be given for Best Program or Project for fuller inclusive participation in the life of the faithful, and Best Improvement to Property providing greater accessibility. The awards will be presented at the annual Celebration of Life Mass celebrated in the parish receiving the award, with the parish pastor or a representative accepting the award at the end of Mass. The nomination form can be found HERE. Nominations will be accepted through August 1.
