Subsurface & Wells Survey


This survey is conducted to gather feedback from MOGSC members, whose business are related to Subsurface and Wells segment of the industry, as to the direction and types of activities that the  Subsurface & Wells Working Group (SWWG) should focus on for the benefit of its members.

Invitation for Malaysian Mid-Tier Companies (MTCs) to apply for Wave 8 of the Mid-Tier Companies Development Programme (MTCDP) by MATRADE
 
MATRADE is inviting MOGSC members to apply for Wave 8 of the Mid-Tier Companies Development Programme (MTCDP) - A fully funded and action-based export programme that offers a dynamic and structured module to help companies achieve increase in export capabilities and market presence. Only 25 companies will be selected to participate this year from different industries.

Overview of the Mid-Tier Companies Development Programme (MTCDP) by MATRADE
Since 2014, more than 275 Mid-Tier Companies (MTCs) have participated and benefited from this programme, of which past participants of this programme have indicated an increase of 22.5% in cumulative exports for year 2019. Through this 9-month programme, participants gained practical skills in exporting capabilities such as branding & marketing, export market prioritization including building a supportive network of peers that can be implemented to strengthen their core export functions, as well as in-market support through overseas market immersions and B2B activities.

This export oriented programme provides participants with professional support and in-depth insight to achieve significant growth through two main components:
  • Diagnostic Phase - Identifying your export priorities and opportunities to create and validate a strategic export plan. The strategic export plan is curated and followed-through via a company specific export diagnostic from renowned industry and market experts.
  • Go-To-Market (GTM) Phase - Facilitate and support your GTM activities that includes market access and B2B through MATRADE's presence in more than 30 countries worldwide.
     
What is the definition of a Mid-Tier Company (MTC)?
A Mid-Tier Company (MTC) is defined as companies with annual revenues of between RM20 million to RM500 million for Services companies and RM50 million to RM500 million for Manufacturing Companies.

Occupational / Industry Standards and Practices (OISP)
Content and Coordination Meeting

 
On Wednesday, 31st March 2021, MOGSC met with the Department of Skills Development (JPK) and the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) on the Occupational / Industry Standards and Practices (OISP) Registry.

OISPs are Occupational / Industry Standards and Practices which are certified, recognised and endorsed by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) and Department of Skills Development. OISPs are to be used as a benchmark in determining an individuals performance in a specific field / discipline. The Standards underline the expectation of achievement and the amount of knowledge and skills required to perform effectively as described by the industry. The OISPs will be selected and utilised by all TVET providers and relevant stakeholders as a basis of curriculum development and delivery for TVET programmes. MOGSC as the Industry Lead Body for Oil & Gas under JPK, will submit recommended OISP to be included in the registry. For more information on OISP, visit the website here

Welsh Virtual Export Market Visit
The Welsh Government and the British Malaysian Chamber of Commerce (BMCC) is organising the Welsh Virtual Export Market Visit this 13-15 April 2021. Thirteen well-established companies from Wales, UK will showcase and talk about their products at a 1-1 virtual meeting. Out of the 13 companies, there are 2 companies that might be of interest to MOGSC members: Navmoor (website) and The British Rototherm Co. (website).
