This Month's Charity
For April I will be supporting Plan International Australia by donating 10% from the sale of each doll.

Doll Donations
This month I want to thank L Weeks in the ACT for your generous doll donations. Please know how much I appreciate you sending these to me!

DIY Tips and Ideas
My motivation behind restyling my dolls has always been to recycle or to reuse, creating something to be treasured and admired from something that would otherwise go to waste or be discarded. I find it really satisfying. And it can apply to many things I do, as well as activities I share with my children. I think it's great to teach them to use what they have, think of ways to use things other people discard, and to try not to create waste. We recently made Easter baskets from old egg cartons for our chocolate egg hunt!

As another example, I recently finished re-painting a life-sized thylacine (Tasmanian tiger) model for the Tasmanian Museum. The fiberglass sculpture was in storage after being removed from display many years ago and needed to be given a new and brighter paint job for the children's' gallery opening. Here's the 'before and after' of this project - soon to be on display!

Family Life
It's school holidays at the moment and I've been making the most of spending time with my family and friends. (Which is why this newsletter is probably a bit shorter than usual!)

I thought I'd just share with you a funny thing my daughter Connie said to me after borrowing my phone to take photos of her toys on my phone. "I took several photos Mum, just in case they had their eyes closed." I think they've all got their eyes open in this one!!!😂

Welcome to new subscribers and please let me know what type of news items you would like to receive each month  - DIY tips, sales information, stories from buyers and their dolls, a day in the life of a doll crafter etc. I'd really appreciate your feedback!

All the best,

Sonia Singh
