London, 14 April 2021
Hello! It's a sunny but hazy day here in the south of England. It's good to be back in Europe. (En route to Edinburgh, I write to you from London Heathrow Airport.)
Today: an iFaith video, a fresh Q&A, and an exciting new podcast by my friend Daniel Berk.
Next week: What I've been learning about faith from the Dead Sea Scrolls.
Excellent Podcast
Our world has trouble distinguishing between being relevant and being reactive. We believe the Bible is as prophetic today as it was when it was written. We should aim to read it honestly, and not as a prooftext for the woke sociological constructs that govern many people’s thinking. Our immense need to learn needs to be complemented with a humility to follow. BibleBrew is a podcast that aims to create a space for logical thinking paired with sound, biblical theology. The podcast seeks truth in a world that has tirelessly redefined truth, wading through theological topics logically and scripturally.
I highly recommend Daniel Berk’s podcast. Access at:
Q: In 1 Cor 15:4 I read of Christ "that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures." What scripture was Paul referring to? — P.D.
A: It may be the resurrection alone that is prophesied (as in Psalm 16, cited by Peter in Acts 2), as opposed to resurrection on a specific day. Yet some point to Hosea 6:2 for the phrase "the third day." Perhaps that’s reading too much into the passage, at least judged by modern sensibilities. READ ON

Upcoming
In the past week I've been honoured to speak for London (evidences, part 1 of 2), China (talks on 2 Samuel), and Puerto Rico (a sisters' book club, on El Espíritu)—besides the lesson for our own Sunday group.
Further April presentations are in the works for Norway, Canada, the US, and the UK. As always, we value your prayers.
