Dear friends and neighbors,

We hope you and your loved ones are well. As we mentioned in a recent newsletter, read here, Santa Clara County is currently in the Orange Tier of Reopening The Economy. It is important to remember and abide by the vital guidelines given to us by our health experts so that we can keep moving forward towards normal life, together. Please click HERE for more resources on COVID-19.
Updates on Vaccines, Masks and Tests

Testing for COVID-19, Wearing a Mask and Social Distancing, and Receiving the COVID-19 Vaccine are the steps we all need to take so we can return back to normal life.

COVID-19 Vaccinations: Receive the COVID-19 vaccination when you become eligible. This vaccine is our best tool in the fight against COVID-19 so that we may get back to normal life. Since this past Thursday, April 1, 2021, COVID-19 vaccines became available to every person aged 50 years or older. Starting April 15, every Californian aged 16 and older will become eligible for the vaccine. Please click HERE for vaccine resources and to schedule your appointment available in English, Español中文Tiếng Việt & Tagalog. We have heard some concerns about the vaccine, we assure you that all of the COVID-19 vaccine options are completely safe. Please click HERE and HERE to read about the vaccine's safety.

Wear a Mask and Socially Distance: Wear a mask and maintain a safe social distance of at least 6 feet with every person outside your household when out in public. Wearing a mask and keeping a distance of 6 feet will protect you and your loved ones from others who may be an unknowing asymptomatic carrier. Please click HERE for more information on masks.

COVID-19 Tests: Testing for the COVID-19 virus is a vital tool to help limit its spread in our community. If you or anyone you know are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms or were exposed to someone who has tested positive, please click HERE to make your testing appointment.

Moving Into the Yellow Tier

We could move into the Yellow Tier quickly, or slowly. That all depends on us. The Yellow Tier is the least restrictive stage of addressing the COVID-19 virus, and it will bring us one step closer to returning to normal life. Being in the Yellow Tier will mean that more businesses are allowed to open with fewer restrictions. Click HERE to read about the County's guidelines for the Yellow Tier and what we all need to do to move our community into the next phase of healing and normalcy.

Two big COVID-19 announcements came out on April 6, 2021. President Biden announced that starting on April 19, 2021, every American above the age of 16 will become eligible for the vaccine. Click HERE to read about his announcement. Additionally, Governor Newsom announced that California has the potential to lift most COVID-19 restrictions, assuming that the state maintains an efficient vaccine roll out and hospitalizations are low. Click HERE to read more about the Governor's statement.

It is most important to receive your COVID-19 Vaccine as soon as you are eligible so that we can move into the Yellow Tier.
Expected Incoming Vaccine Doses

California's vaccine distributions are ramping up! Currently, heathcare providers in Santa Clara County are vaccinating an average of about 20,000 people a day. California received 2.4 million vaccine doses this week (week of April 4 - 9, 2021), an increase of 300,000 vaccine doses from the week before (week of March 28 - April 3, 2021). By mid April, California will be receiving 3 million vaccination doses per week.
