“I continue to avoid content that can easily make one feel bad for not being able to afford an expensive college or get into a very prestigious one, and I think there’s comfort in viewing the process for what it is. Decision season is going to be exciting, disappointing, stressful, and not ideal, but accepting that is the key to peace of mind during this time,” Managing Editor Ella Dame writes about her experience with the college admissions season, ahead of the Ivy League’s admissions announcement on April 6.

MLB moves All-Star Game from Atlanta over Georgia voting law
Major League Baseball (MLB) announced Friday that it will be moving this summer’s All-Star Game from Atlanta in response to Georgia’s new voting law. Multiple other corporations have condemned the law. Supporters of the Georgia law say the changes it makes to the state’s voting system are necessary to bolster confidence in elections. Opponents, including many high-profile activist groups, say it will lead to longer lines, partisan control of elections and more difficult logistics for voters trying to cast their ballots by mail.

U.S. Capitol police officer killed in attack at Capitol checkpoint
One Capitol Police officer was killed and another injured Friday when a man crashed his vehicle into them near the U.S. Capitol. The slain officer was identified as William “Billy” Evans, an 18-year veteran and father of two children. Several people familiar with the investigation identified the driver as Noah Green. Green reportedly struggled with drug use and paranoia.
