Green Terp Art Park

We will have an installation at the DOTS Art Park for Park(ing) Day!

Our installation will be located by HJ Patterson from April 12-May1 11, and features upcycled and reclaimed materials.

Solar powered LED lights symbolize energy, a bird bath symbolizes water, a bike symbolizes transportation, and planters growing greens symbolizes food. Many of the SustainableUMD partners and focus areas are featured in the installation.

The Green Terp staff team including staff, interns, and ambassadors from the Office of Sustainability as well as Resident Life and additional partners from DOTS and Facilities helped bring this work together!

Sustainability Fund Grants

Sustainability Fund Awards Over $400K to 10 Campus Projects

10 projects were awarded $405,065 this academic year—the second-highest amount the Sustainability Fund has ever distributed. One project that was funded was a Mobile Sustainability Outreach Center, featured in the image above.

Since 2011, the Sustainability Fund, supported by student fees, has given around $3.2 million to 156 such projects, which help improve the environmental performance of campus operations, bolster opportunities for Terps to learn about sustainability, and contribute to research on how to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, decrease waste and more.

The next deadline for faculty, staff, and students to apply for funding is Oct 15, 2021
