What does Mysticism spark in you? Intrigue, confusion, scorn, excitement? While not an often discussed part of Christianity, mysticism has played and continues to play an important role in how we, as Lutherans, do theology and understand God. Mysticism asks us how we speak to God and how God speaks to us, and you may be surprised to see just how mystical your traditions already are.

For our Faith Conversations in April we will be focusing on Christian Mystics and discussing how their lives, works, and experiences can inform our faith lives. We will start off on April 8th with the mystic, theologian, and musician Hildegard von Bingen.

Hope to see you there!

Musings from Vicar Leif:

I was told in college that I could only have two of these three things: an active social life, good grades in my classes, and a healthy sleep schedule. Perhaps you have heard something similar? Indeed, at times life at college feels like a bubble where work, sleep, and the people around you are the only things in your life.

This past week was Holy Week - a very sacred time in the Church year. It has so many wonderful messages, and I know that in college this season always snuck up on me. I hope that you are able to carve out some time from amidst balancing work, friends, and sleep to give yourself some spiritual nourishment.
