Prayer knows no boundary, no quarantine, no confinements. 
Prayer knows no travel ban or city blockage. 
We are called to pray!

  • Tim, Mel, Jarred and Clayton arrived back  in Townsville from Malawi in late January for an extended time of home assignment.
  • Thank God for the provision of accommodation and transport.
  • Pray for Tim and Mel as they visit churches around Queensland as part of their home assignment, and for Barry and Lois in their supporting role.
  • Pray for Jarred in grade 12 and Clayton in grade 10 as they settle into school life.
  • Thank God for the Yawo believers in Malawi - that God may give the village group leaders wisdom and strength in their faith as they lead and grow.
  • Pray of the continued work of bible translation in 2021
  • Praise God for the amazing work of the Sandra Jones Centre in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe and its work with girl victims of sexual abuse.  One in every three girls in Zimbabwe is sexually abused before they reach the age of 18.
  • Thank God for the wonderful witness and changed lives through the work of the centre over the years.
  • Pray for Debbie and her team as they serve and show God's love among the girls during these difficult times with many COVID-related restrictions.
  • Thank God for the land area around the Hotel Rio that can be cultivated for food.
  • Pray for funding to pay off the debt on the Hotel Rio.  If you are interested in giving donations, please speak to a member of the Missions Team to become involved.
  • Praise God for Ben, Petra, Bryce and Lochlan's safe arrival back to the Silk Road after their extended home assignment.
  • Praise God for their recent visa renewal - a major answer to prayer!!
  • Praise God for opening the doors - re-establishing old friendships and the making of new friends on the Silk Road.
  • Pray for the continued developing of Ben and Petra's language skills - that they would quickly return and develop well to enable easy communication.
  • Pray for Bryce and Lochlan as they grow in their faith and learning and as they make new friends and renew earlier friendships.
  • Praise God that although infected by COVID-19 the Patterson's were not badly effected and have do not have any of the symptoms that can persist afterwards.
  • Praise God for the good attitudes of Svetlana and Mimi to all the changes over the pandemic, and for the ability to stay connected with friends.
  • Praise for the blessing of witnessing God's work of growing, healing and challenging people we minister to and the faithful service of the leaders in the Balkans South area.
  • Praise for God's mercy and provision in bringing us through this year that, despite its challenges, has been fruitful, encouraging and enjoyable overall.
  • Please pray for safe travel on the roads during times connecting with the different teams - for God's guidance in how to best minister to the needs of our team members. 
  • Pray for the Bulgarian elections - for God's sovereign hand over the election itself, for encouragement of individual Bulgarians seeking change, for government to seek the good of the people. 
  • Pray for Dan's preparation for his next systematics course at St Trivelius. 
  • Pray for God to continue to bring healing and growth in the lives of each of the women Kate meets with.

  • Praise God for the 40+ years of faithful ministry in southern Asia. We look forward to celebrating with him when Morris joins us in May.
  • Pray for Morris as he is now based in southern Queensland working with a team developing bible apps for south Asia.
  • Governments are taking steps to gain some control of the spread of COVID-19; but schools have been closed, public transport has been decreased, large gatherings have been banned, and businesses have closed. Please continue to pray.
  • Pray for the continued work of Symbiosis as they help equip and support the people of south Asia to come to know Jesus and to learn the skills needed to generate an income.
  • Pray for the people of south Asia who are suffering greatly both economically and in their health as COVID-19 sweeps through the nations.
  • Praise God for His prompting 53 years ago on Australia Day, that would lead Morris to being fully immersed in international mission. We thank our heavenly father for the many ways Morris has been used to bring His light to so many over the years.
  • Upward conversations for L's long-distance research connections and friends in South Asia as they deal with the impact of COVID-19 and her continued PhD studies into snake bites.
  • Remember L to our Father as she submits her ethics application and completes the methods chapter of her studies.
  • Speak also to our Father for L as she continues her studies which are highly valued by the people of Southern Asia and for doors to remain open as she builds relationships with the staff at the hospital where she worked.
  • Upward talk for her editorial work for the CJGH journal.
  • Please pray for MAF flights as the wet season continues to bring unpredictable and difficult weather.  Please pray for flight safety and wisdom for our pilots as they fly in these conditions. 
  • Please pray for Mark as he completes an audit of the Flight Training Centre in Mareeba and spends a week in Cairns at the MAF Head Office with the staff of MAF's Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisation. Mark is also their quality manager. 
  • Give thanks that Mark's parents are coming and volunteering to help paint a MAF House during April and May.  Pray for health, safety and no border restrictions as they are coming from Melbourne. 
  • Please pray for countries where MAF is working where COVID cases are rising, and countries are going back into lockdown.  In particular, Timor Leste, PNG and Kenya. 
  • Pray for energy and patience for Jodie as she teaches in the local school which struggles to attract teachers. Please pray for health with many kids and staff at school being sick in the last couple of weeks.
Suzanne Day is planning to go to Guinea and join the SIM team now that she has finished her studies at Ridley College.
  • Pray for Suzanne who is now based in Townsville before she heads out to Guinea as she becomes involved at both the Upper Ross and Northreach churches and seeks to raise support (both prayer and financial).
  • Pray for many good connections to be made across the churches of NQ to help build and develop Suzanne's support network before she heads to Africa.
  • Please pray for the Fulani and Maninka people of Guinea who do not yet know Christ and for the SIM team there already.
  • Pray for wisdom and guidance for Suzanne over the coming months before she leaves for Guinea.
Tom and Elyse Sweeney - currently studying at Sydney Missionary Bible College.
  • Pray that God would give clear direction to Tom and Elyse as to where He would have them serve Him in the future.
  • Pray for useful and effective study times.
  • Praise God they were able to visit friends and family in Townsville over Christmas and the New Year after nearly a year of COVID separation.
