While CHADD’s staff and much of the nation continues to work from home, we may be starting to see the end of the COVID tunnel. I hear many children and adults speaking of anxiety about returning to school or work. The old acronym FOMO (Fear of Missing Out) is being replaced with FONO (Fear of Normal).
Please know that you can count on CHADD to provide support and education to all affected by ADHD as we move into the “new” normal.

Much is going on this spring. Just to name a few of our activities:
  • We are preparing for the Annual International Conference on ADHD to be held in November. Once again, due to the potential health concerns, we will hold this conference virtually. While we miss seeing everyone in person, it does provide a less expensive way for more people to attend this wonderful interactive event.
  • Our Public Policy committee recently presented a webinar to primary care providers to give them new updates on identifying and treating ADHD. For many individuals with ADHD, care is provided by family physicians, general pediatricians, or nurse practitioners. It is CHADD’s goal to educate those professionals so they can provide the best quality of care.
  • Our Professional Advisory Board is reviewing the latest studies and continues to share vital information on the CHADD website.
  • Attention, our print and digital magazine, continues to publish articles on thriving during these times, with tips and strategies for remote and hybrid education, building resiliency, and working from home.
We have seen a huge increase in the number of visitors to CHADD’s website (up 70%) and downloads of our programs (up 80%). Since CHADD was formed in 1987, we have been committed to serving the ADHD community. We are the only national organization for ADHD that provides direct support (through our 115 local chapters and virtually across the country), evidence-based information (through fact sheets, articles, webinars, or podcasts—all featuring top experts), and advocacy at both state and federal levels (seeking research and educational funding).

As a charitable nonprofit, CHADD relies on donations to keep our programs operational. The pandemic has impacted donations across the country. Your support of CHADD is crucial to our work. Thank you very much to our recent donors. For those who have not recently supported our work, please consider making a tax-deductible gift to CHADD today.
