Photos from March’s Drive Thru Dinner

The Fellowship Committee and helpers served 166 meals on March 26th!  The Fellowship Committee had helpers from everywhere to make it a great success.  Between the Fellowship Committee funds, and donations made by those receiving the meals (we keep telling them that it's FREE) there is usually enough to start planning the next dinner.  Spreading the love of Jesus is always Win Win!

From Rev. John Hougen, our new Interim Pastor

I’ve only been here a few weeks, but I have experienced some wonderful things about TTPC. Our office staff, Jeanne and Mike, are knowledgeable and great to work with. Our music with Janice, Ashley, and Kavan is terrific. We served a delicious drive through community turkey dinner. I enjoyed participating and getting to know TTPC folks. I have met a number of people, including those running the Week Day School. It’s been a good couple weeks.

My wife and I are pretty much unpacked and getting settled in our new home. It was quite a chore moving after 21 years in one location. A lot of things were left behind, but more importantly good friends and family. I believe our lives are not measured by the quality of our things but by the quality of our relationships. Now we are looking forward to establishing ourselves in our new home.

We live a few minutes from our oldest daughter. She turned 40 last week and we spent her birthday at Disney World. It was a wonderful day, warm and sunny, and lots of fun as we enjoyed our “happy place” together. Life is good!

I am at TTPC as your interim pastor. My role is to get you ready for your next installed pastor. The task of interim ministry can be summed up this way. I will help TTPC look in the mirror and look out the window. Together with the Session we will explore the 5 tasks of interim ministry.

  • Looking at the history of TTPC.

  • Thinking about the identity of TTPC.

  • Evaluate, encourage, and develop the leadership of TTPC.

  • Strengthen TTPC’s connection with our denomination.

  • Committing to a way forward into the future together.

As we work on these things, I will be intent on getting to know you, supporting your mission, and providing vital worship experiences each week. I’m excited about the time we will have together and what God will be doing in our midst!

Pastor John

We will continue to host our FREE Monthly Drive-thru dinners for as long as we are able which will help people stretch their food dollars. We will need volunteers to help our committee by offering their time to help with the preparation of food, boxing up food and snacks with literature about our church, donating food or helping with the expenses.

Our Re-Entry Procedures for Worship in Fellowship Hall

While we are all probably suffering from "Covid fatigue" we really need you to call 988-3514 to RSVP for Sunday worship.

1) TTPC began in-person worship on Sunday, November 1, 2020. It is the plan to continue recorded worship as well.

2) As we re-enter in-person worship, we will implement the following measures to provide for the health and safety of our worshipers.

  • Attendees will use a telephone reservation system to let us know you are planning to attend worship. Call the church by noon Thursday at 988-3514 please to RSVP.

  • We will gather in Fellowship Hall at 10:00 a.m. for one worship service.

  • We will enter through the double doors (with the ramp) on the south side (Bullard Parkway side) of Fellowship Hall. Entrance into Fellowship Hall will be marked with 6 foot separation stripes. Some areas of the building will be restricted from entry.

  • All in attendance will have their temperature taken with a forehead digital thermometer. We ask that you do not attend if you are feeling ill, chills, fever, cough, runny nose, stomach issues or other symptoms. If you have traveled through an airport, please wait 10 days before attending worship.

  • Out of care and concern for all who gather for worship, all worshipers ages three and older will be required to wear a face covering while inside Fellowship Hall.

  • Hand sanitation stations will be located throughout Fellowship Hall.

  • Chairs will be set up 6 feet apart, with groupings for families to sit together. Ushers will direct worshipers to their assigned seats.

  • In accordance with guidelines, we will have no congregational singing, no Coffee Fellowship, no touching during Passing of the Peace.

  • A drop-box will be available for offerings and prayer request.

  • Following worship, attendees will be asked to leave through the Fellowship Hall double doors leaving a 6 foot distance between groups/individuals.

The worship area will be thoroughly cleaned and sanitized following the worship service.

What’s Right with Tampa Bay

The Hillsborough Supervisor of Elections donated 1400 iPads after the presidential election to the Hillsborough Education Foundation for students to use at home. Old information was deleted and they were upgraded for students. Well done!
