Vermont Judiciary Announces New Fee Structure for eFiling

Montpelier, VT - The Vermont Judiciary has announced a new "per case" use fee structure for the eFiling system. The new fee structure will replace the previous "per envelope" fee model. Pursuant to Act 120 (2020), user fees have been paid from funding provided through the Coronavirus Relief Fund (CRF), which ends on March 31, 2021. Accordingly, the new per case fee structure will commence on April 1st, 2021.

The new per case fee is $14 per filer or firm, payable upon a party’s first filing.  Fees can be paid by credit card or eCheck for a small convenience fee. Exemptions to the fee remain in place, for example in criminal cases, domestic violence cases and in cases in which a fee waiver has been granted. Information about these exemptions and answers to frequently asked questions about eFiling, can be found on the Judiciary website at www.vermontjudiciary.org/efiling.
