Murder on the Teche Entering Final Stage
Our next book to hit the printer is Murder on the Teche: A True Story of Money and a Flawed Investigation by journalist and investigator Tom Aswell. This is the first public critical account of the bludgeoning death of popular orthodontist in New Iberia, Dr. Robert Chastant in 2010. The undocumented Mexican laborer who worked for Chastant confessed to the murder but insisted that the doctor's wife had paid him to do it. Oddly, the wife was never considered a suspect or even person of interest, while the perpetrator received a life sentence and she walked away with over a million dollars from her husband's life insurance. The book includes copies of pertinent documents in an appendix. Publication is scheduled for early May.

Spring into Easter with a New Book!
Along with Easter, warmer weather and all that comes with spring, we are happy to see bookstores opening up more to the public and customers -- due to COVID vaccinations -- feeling freer to circulate in those stores. The New Orleans metro area is fortunate to have a lively independent booksellers' presence and strong local support. We remind you that spending book dollars locally stays local and sends almost twice the amount of cash to publishers and authors than when you buy online from the Big A. Ask for our titles from Barnes & Noble in Metairie to French Quarter gift shops and everything in between. We thank you!
