Dear GWC Members,

Ordinarily we would be posting and announcing those nominated to serve in elected leadership via the bulletin and during an in-person gathering at least 2 weeks prior to our Annual Local Church Conference and Elections.  However, since we have suspended in-person gatherings until Easter Sunday, April 4, we will provide this information via E-mail and during Facebook Live prelude announcement slides.

Local Church Conference | Nominations —

On Sunday, April 11, we plan to have our Local Church Conference and Elections after the close of the Morning Service.  During the LCC, reports will be given and elections will be held for the Pastor, Local Board of Administration, Trustees, and District Conference Lay Delegates and Alternate Lay Delegates.

Following are two documents for your consideration (click to view):

As previously stated, according to The Discipline, church members must be present in person to vote — with the exception of the vote for the Pastor.  Church members who cannot attend the pastoral vote at the LCC "because of confining illness, required employment, or necessary out-of-town travel or seasonal residency" (or due to the COVID Pandemic), may cast an absentee ballot

To request an absentee ballot, please contact our LBA Secretary Debbie Dickerson (Call or Text:  270-646-0989  /  E-mail:  drd@glasgow-ky.com).  She will gladly distribute an absentee ballot to any church member according to the guidelines of The Discipline.  The completed absentee ballot must be placed in the provided envelope — which must then be sealed and returned to Debbie Dickerson before the LCC on April 11.

The sealed envelopes containing absentee ballots will not be opened until the LCC pastoral vote session.  The sealed envelopes will be opened by the LBA Secretary in the presence of the LBA Vice-Chair (without viewing vote) prior to the tallying of the vote and combined with all other identical ballots for counting by the tellers.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me or any LBA Member.
Annual Membership Reaffirmation — REMINDER

According to The Discipline of The Wesleyan Church, church members will be asked to reaffirm their commitment to the Lord through the local church annually.  We plan to give opportunity for our church members to do this publicly during our worship service on Easter Sunday by standing and reaffirming the following:
  1. I have been born again through faith in Jesus Christ.
  2. I am committed to pursue holiness in all things.
  3. I have been baptized.
  4. I am committed to abide by the teachings of The Wesleyan Church, including the Articles of Religion and the Elementary Principles.
  5. I accept the authority of The Wesleyan Church in matters of church government.
  6. I am committed to live out the mission and vision of The Wesleyan Church through a discipling relationship within the local church.

There are several ways to reaffirm your commitment as a church member.
  • Reply to this E-mail with a simple message like "I REAFFIRM."
  • Text Pastor Tim Linick (270-790-1341) or LBA Secretary Debbie Dickerson (270-646-0989) "I REAFFIRM."
  • Download the following Annual Membership Reaffirmation (click) form (required to sign both sections to be eligible to serve in elected leadership), sign it, and return it to Pastor Tim Linick or LBA Secretary Debbie Dickerson.  This document includes a summary of the Articles of Religion and the entire Guides and Helps to Holy Living / Membership Commitments text section from The Discipline of The Wesleyan Church.
Please note that we want to be as inclusive as possible to encourage you to be an active church member and participate in the fellowship at GWC!  This process is not to exclude anyone, but does serve as on opportunity to stay connected with each one who is on the Church Membership Roll.  We must hear from you by April 30, so that we can complete reports required by The Discipline.

If you have any questions about the Annual Membership Reaffirmation process or anything going on at GWC, please let us know.  We love you, and we want you to always feel a sense of BELONGING (click for video) in the Family of God!
We hope that you will join us when we resume in-person gatherings (SS—9:45, Morning Worship—10:45, Wednesday Bible Study—6:00) at GWC or via Facebook Live

Let's do our very best to stay connected and pray for one another!

Blessings,
