Dear members and subscribers,

March 31 is Transgender Day of Visibility.

Transgender Day of Visibility is an annual day dedicated to celebrating transgender people and raising awareness of discrimination faced by transgender people, as well as a celebration of their contributions to society.

We take great pride in our diverse music community, and here are a few ways you can support and celebrate our Transgender and Gender Diverse (TGD) community.

Thanks,
Music Victoria
Transgender and Gender Diverse Inclusion for Venues

Just recently, Music Victoria launched our updated Best Practice Guidelines for Venues.

Venues, events and social environments that demonstrate an inclusive understanding of trans and gender diverse (TGD) musicians, staff and patrons have the opportunity to be the most welcoming environments through using gender diverse practice.

Chapter 17: Transgender and Gender Diverse Inclusion was written by Simona Castricum in community consultation with Transgender Victoria & Queerspace.

This chapter provides information, terminology and resources to make your venues inclusive and welcoming for TGD people.

Music Victoria's Listening to Victoria's Trans and Gender Diverse Community

In honour of #transdayofvisibility our weekly playlist features a selection of some of our favourite Victorian Trans and Gender Diverse (TGD) artists, or bands featuring TGD members, including June Hones, SaD, Uboa, Geryon, Lalic, Dark Water, Porpoise Spit and many more.

We encourage you to support these artists and stream the playlist loudly and proudly.
