We are happy to announce that Interfaith Food Ministry was voted for in The Union's Best of Nevada County, in two categories: General Nonprofits and Community Contributor. We owe this special honor to our Nevada County community who took the time to nominate and vote for us. This is the very first time IFM has been recognized in the popular annual Best of Nevada County publication.
We intend to continue serving our families in need for years to come and hope you continue to vote for IFM. A vote for IFM is a vote for combating hunger in western Nevada County.
Thanks to the support of many generous individuals, a total of $17,500 has been raised for the Good Food For All Program. GFFA is a collaboration between Riverhill Farm and IFM, that supports local economy, helps both farmers and food insecure families; it’s ‘good food’. We want to thank Alan Haight, the founder of Good Food For All for his great advocacy.
Please, help us feed Nevada County families in need! Despite the challenges we've faced during the pandemic, IFM has continued to provide nutritious and wholesome food to our struggling neighbors. Last year alone, IFM experienced a 40% increase in demand from clients who faced the inability to adequately feed their families. We distributed 145,369 bags of groceries to 11,261 adults, children, and seniors.
“I'm a disabled senior and too poor to get food all month. The Interfaith Food Ministry helps in a big way. I want to thank all the donors. You are awesome to give the food to people in need and the quality is good too. Bless you.” Liz, IFM Client
For 34 years IFM has been a cornerstone in the community providing supplemental groceries to local families in need. We are also committed to sourcing much of our food from local farms and food producers here in Nevada County. Proceeds from the March Matching fundraiser will feed approximately 8,000 people in the next four months.
We humbly ask for your help in partnering with us toward our mission of reducing food insecurity in our community. Many thoughtful and selfless members of our community have sent in their stimulus money, because they know that there are others out there who need it more. A special thanks to those who have already sent in a contribution. You have helped us get closer to reaching our $120K goal this year. A handful of generous donors have already stepped forward and agreed to match what we, the community can come up with.
If you or someone you know would like to help, we are accepting donations marked, "MATCH" up until April 15th! Double Your Donation Today.
