Daejeon Dust Suction Trucks: Clean and Fresh Air for People

THE increasingly urbanised world has made clean and fresh air in the city scarce. To tackle this challenge, the City of Daejeon deploys dust section trucks to ensure people breathe cleaner and fresh air. The initiative was developed by Mayor Hur Tae-jeong as one of his pledges during the election in 2018 and has been implemented since 2019. Daejeon successfully removed 71 tons of fine dust on roads by deploying Dust Suction Trucks. The truck is specially manufactured to clean fine dust by vacuuming the dust and discharging clean air with a filter that removes 98% of the fine dust. Click

My-T App by Seoul: Safe Use of Public Transportation amidst the COVID-19 Pandemic

THE Seoul Metropolitan Government (SMG) is launching the “My-T” smartphone application. The app offers users information such as overlapping routes with COVID-19-confirmed individuals and guides to less congested routes. It aims to ensure citizens’ safe use of public transportation during the pandemic. My-T app uses GPS to collect data location information. The data will be combined with public transportation operations, passengers’ transportation card tags, and public Wi-Fi (referred to as MyData). The combined data will also be compared and analysed with personal passages and travel routes with the movements of confirmed individuals.
