MONTHLY NEWSLETTER - MARCH 2021
One year into the Covid-19 pandemic and in the wake of the murder of Sarah Everard, we have joined 96 specialist VAWG organisations in writing this letter to the prime minister highlighting serious concerns about the government's current response to male violence.

There have been too many times that we have seen the media and governments' attention move from one type of violence against women and girls to another, often for the issue to be forgotten by the time next week's news headlines take shape. For organisations like ours, each day includes working tirelessly to ensure the voices of women and girls surviving violence and abuse remain a national priority.

We support the renewed calls for an integrated national violence against women and girls strategy that delivers effective resources to prevent and educate, provide specialist support to survivors and offer protection from abusers and accountability to those who perpetrate.

Here we reflect and attempt to capture some of the complexity of issues raised the past few weeks about women's safety, our freedom, and the inadequate responses we see to men's violence against women and girls.

RASASC Celebrate Women's History Month and International Women's Day
March is Women's History Month, and also includes the day that we celebrate International Women's Day. The official theme for this year was "Choose to Challenge" and as women around the world battle the social, economic, and political inequalities and fallout from Covid-19, the need for this is greater than ever.

Join us in celebrating some of the many women who have made history as trailblazers, activists and change-makers – and who are still making history today!
