Deadline for EU settlement

The EU Settlement Scheme (EUSS) requires all non-British and non-Irish EU citizens to register to continue to live and work in the UK now that we have left the EU. The scheme will open for applications until 30 June 2021. Find out more about the EU Settlement Scheme and the new points-based immigration system here:

Applicants will need to show 5 years continuous residency in the UK to be granted settled status. Those who have been in the UK for less than 5 years will be granted pre-settled status. They will then be eligible for settled status after 5 years.

EU citizens with settled or pre-settled status will retain their rights to work in the UK, use the NHS, enrol in education or continue studying, access public funds such as benefits and pensions, if eligible for them, and to travel in and out of the UK.

EU, EEA and Swiss citizens living in the UK by 31 December 2020, and their family, can apply to the EU Settlement Scheme to continue living in the UK after 30 June 2021.

Window safety in your home

Window restrictors are an important safety device which prevent windows from being opened too wide and becoming a danger.
They not only help protect people in your home, they also provide additional security.
Please ensure you practice basic window safety by ensuring your restrictor is in working order and left in a locked position.
If you notice your window restrictor is broken, please keep your window locked and report to our repairs service immediately – we will make it a priority to fix your window restrictor at no charge. You can report to 0208 489 5611
Please visit our window safety video on our website to learn more.

Launch of new online residents’ portal

We are launching a new online residents’ portal, Housing Online, on 26 April 2021. This new system will allow you to report repairs, pay rent and service charges and update your contact details at a time and place convenient to you. Housing Online will offer you 24-hour secure access to your account.
This new system will replace SeeMyData, and over time will allow us to offer more online services so that you can interact with us in a way that suits you. It will be accessible through the Homes for Haringey website.
When the new system launches, you will need to register for an account allowing you to:
• View your rent account balance and statements (for tenants)
• View all your leasehold accounts and invoices covering the last 12 months
• Pay your rent or service charge
• Report a repair (for tenants)
• Report a communal repair (for tenants and leaseholders)
• Update your personal details

The Haringey Support Fund

We recognise that some residents are experiencing financial hardship, due to the impact of COVID-19 and other circumstances and may need extra support to meet their immediate needs.

The Haringey Support Fund is a scheme to support residents who are facing unexpected costs and require emergency help.

This scheme can provide one-off payments in emergencies and help with the costs of essential items that are difficult to budget for. It is designed to help ease financial pressure on residents with low incomes and to support those most in need.

Second live webchat with residents

We had a second live chat with residents which was held on March 9. Homes for Haringey Managing Director, Sean McLaughlin updated residents on services and gave an opportunity to residents to give feedback, raise concerns and ask questions.

McLaughlin told the residents to maintain vigilance and remain safe from Covid19. He asked them to keep observing the Government standard operating procedures.

He also encouraged residents to receive the vaccine when they are called upon.

From Monday 29 March, the ‘Stay at home’ rule will end, but many restrictions will still remain in place.

People will be able to take part in formally organised outdoor sports with any number of people (outdoor sports venues and facilities will be able to reopen) childcare and supervised activities will be allowed outdoors for all children.

People should continue to work from home where they can and minimise the number of journeys they make where possible, avoiding travel at the busiest times and routes. Travel abroad will continue to be prohibited, other than for a small number of permitted reasons. Holidays abroad will not be allowed, to manage the risk of imported variants and protect the vaccination programme. Anyone found to break this rule will risk being fined up to £5,000.
