Today, let's focus on cultivating a humble posture before God and others.

Find a quiet space. Sit up tall, and close your eyes. Set a timer for one to two minutes per movement so that you can be fully present (or increase the time if you want a longer experience).

First, pay attention to God.

Take slow, deep breaths. Focus on the spot that you feel the breath in your body.
  • As you breathe in, think, "Christ raises me up..."
  • As you breathe out, think, "... to newness of life" (Colossians 2:12).

Second, ponder your inner world.

Process the following with Jesus:
  • What aspects of my life do I need to put to death (Colossians 3:5)?
  • What parts of me does love need to bind together (Colossians 3:14)?

Third, prepare to love others.

Ask Jesus to help you answer the following:
  • Who needs my undivided love this week?
  • How will I love them? (Even put this on your schedule)

A closing prayer:

Father, You are Love, and You loved me while I was still a sinner. While my sins deserve death, Your love makes me lovely.

Jesus, You died and were raised for love's sake. Now, I have died with you and am raised to newness of life.

Help me, Jesus, to crucify everything that does not produce love. Resurrect me in your loving way.

Amen.

Peace be with you until next week,
