I hope this message finds you and your family keeping well.
Over a year has now passed with the worldwide acknowledgment and effects of the Covid-19 pandemic. This has been a year of complicated challenges as difficulties continue to shape our professional and personal lives and additionally so with the racial injustices impacting our communities. Through these troubling times, you have remained resolute in your commitment to assist each other, to ensure your students receive high quality educational experiences virtually, hybrid or in person, and support their families in whatever capacity you can. You have done this while managing your own personal concerns and matters. I, and the Florida CEC board, are very much appreciative of you for all you do for our exceptional community! As this year continues, I hope that you are spending spring break with loved ones and sharing in relaxing moments.
A couple of important events to highlight. First, our Florida CEC Leadership Virtual Conference will be Saturday, June 26, 2021 from 9 am to noon. Information about this event is on our website. Second, we are planning our Florida CEC Annual Conference this year on October 21-23, 2021. Due to the pandemic, last year’s conference was canceled. Please review the Call for Proposals. I highly encourage your submissions.
Please review this document for Public Comments on B.E.S.T. Standards Revisions. Your input as an educator serving our exceptional student community matters tremendously.
Lastly and importantly, our Florida CEC board is a dedicated group of volunteers whose continued service to our exceptional student community is unwavering.
