LMS Happenings, the SMCOE Library Media Services Newsletter
April  2021

Welcome to LMS Happenings!

Welcome to April's LMS Happenings, the monthly newsletter to support the Library Media Services (LMS) administrators and school library personnel in San Mateo county.  This issue includes the SMCOE's Distance/Hybrid Learning Newsletter, Public Library Services Support, and Upcoming Events for School Administrators and their Communities, as well as Resource Links.

Our monthly Zoom meeting for all LMS administrators and school library personnel is going to be held next Monday, April 5th, from 8:30 - 9:00 a.m.  The topic of discussion that morning will be "The Reopening of School Libraries" so the panel and myself will focus on various ways that school libraries can best support their students and staff in a safe manner.  The panel members that morning will be school library staff (certificated and classified) from both Santa Clara and San Mateo county.

Ellen Arenas, the LMS administrative assistant, will be recording the meeting that morning if either you and/or your school library personnel would like a copy of it.
Happy Spring!
Tina

Public Library Services Support

Would you like a virtual program and/or service in your school or district's classrooms?

If so, please have your teachers fill out this form and a children's/young adult librarian will reach out to them within a week to discuss the details. Services include (but are not limited to) teaching your students how to do research using online resources, running an after-school book club to support their required reading, providing books for students to keep through our curbside pickup to support assigned reading and/or school projects, and much, much more!
