Democracies across the globe are under pressure internally and externally. Internally, they face protests, scandals, voting controversies, and even insurrection. Externally, meanwhile, democracies are contending with challenges posed by authoritarian regimes, which have sought to outcompete democratic states and outmaneuver the liberal international order. Join Perry World House and the Andrea Mitchell Center for the Study of Democracy for a high-level panel discussion on these issues with some of the world’s top experts on democracies.

Penn Coronavirus: University Update 3/31/2021

"While last week’s results were reassuring as we did not see any further uptick following Spring Stay, we must not become complacent. National trends are not reassuring and local data show very concerning trends about highly transmissible variant strains, including some that have been associated with vaccine breakthrough. More so than before, we must remain vigilant and follow public health guidance: wash your hands, watch your distance, mask up and socialize outside. "
