Earth Day Outdoor Activity
Tentative meeting location (check here closer to the date): The Grotto area closest to St. Mary's Lake.
Help us fight one of Indiana’s most common and invasive weeds during this year’s Earth Day weekend. Garlic Mustard is known for taking over areas very quickly, limiting our native biodiversity. Eliminating this aggressive plant around Notre Dame’s lakes will allow room for native wildflowers to flourish and become more established.
Gardening/work gloves will be provided. We ask that you wear long sleeves and long pants to avoid exposure to poison ivy. Please bring a reusable bottle of water and a mask. This is a great opportunity for you to enjoy the natural beauty of the campus, and all students, staff, and faculty are welcome.
We'll start off with a little "how-to" and point you in the right direction.
Rain or shine (dress appropriately).
For planning purposes: Please let us know you're coming.
We will still be following all COVID protocols.
