#1. COVID-19 and Provincewide Shutdown Update

Assalamu ‘Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuhu,

The new Provincewide Shutdown orders take effect as of Saturday, April 3, 2021 at 12:01 AM and will continue in Ottawa for four weeks. As a result, masjid access will be restricted from Friday, April 2 after Isha prayers.

According to the latest information, Masjid ar-Rahmah’s access to the general public for the 5 daily prayers and Jumu'ah will be limited to 15 percent occupancy per room indoors.

To prevent the spread of COVID-19 in communities, it is recommended to:
  • stay home as much as possible
  • limit close contact to your household and stay at least 2 metres apart from everyone else
  • limit trips outside your home to necessities, such as:
    •  getting food or medication
    • going to medical appointments
    • supporting vulnerable community members
    • child care
    • getting exercise
Virtual services and programs at AMA will continue as scheduled.

We would like to thank you for the contributions in keeping the transmission low and your collective efforts to help reduce the spread of COVID-19 in Ottawa. As well, thank you for all your efforts and compassion in continuing to reach out to those in our community most in need.

May Allah (swt) keep you, your families and our entire community in His Mercy and Protection.
