“If dandelions were hard to grow, they would be most welcome on any lawn.” Andrew Mason

April showers bring May flowers, and for those trying to keep a manicured lawn, it also means an onslaught of spring weeds. It seems no weed is more resistant to the gardener’s elimination efforts than the dandelion. Deep-rooted and resistant to most control attempts, this determined plant usually finds its way up to sunlight even though concrete. But is this little yellow flower a nuisance, or does our perspective need to shift? As the saying goes, “some see weeds, others see wishes.” The early-blooming dandelion is a good food source for our bees and butterflies, and the plant also has many medicinal healing properties for us humans. As we focus on creating more sustainable lawns and gardens, we learn that it is better to plant native plants as they are easier to grow and require less maintenance. The same can go for our skills. We sometimes put too much energy into what we don’t have or do well and ignore our natural talents, gifts, and abilities, creating an unstainable, not to mention an unhappy life.

Since we're on the spring topic, thanks to everyone who made it to our Bunny Hop client event, the weather was beautiful, and it was great to see all the kids having fun hunting for eggs and posing with the Easter Bunny. We have more events planned for the year, so be sure to keep an eye out for our invitations. April is also National Gardening Month, so we'd like to encourage you to check out our list below and visit some of the grand gardens around Metro Detroit this month.

If you haven’t heard, yes, it’s a seller’s market! Our buyers are persistent, but it’s not easy going up against multiple offers and losing out on their dream home. The map below is our current search area, but inventory is extremely low throughout the entire Metro Detroit area, so call us because it’s definitely a good time to sell.
