Spinning into the Future of Baton Twirling.
Twirling friends and colleagues,

Over the past 5 years, World Baton Twirling Day has evolved into a very special tradition for baton twirlers around the globe. As we look back at 2020 with dismay for the tremendous hardship brought along with it, I find hope looking at 2021 and specifically April 10 as a day to celebrate our sport.

Coaches: Please encourage your athletes to learn the routine linked below on our YouTube channel. Have your athletes teach their non-twirling friends, too!

Athletes: Don't be afraid to put your own "spin" on the choreography. We are a creative sport, after all, and we want to show the world just how unique we can be!

When posting on social media, using the hashtag #WorldBatonTwirlingDay is a must!

Above all else, please know that in trying times we are reminded what a remarkable opportunity lies within this sport to bring together some of the most genuine, charismatic people. If recording the routine isn't for you, that's okay. Celebrate in your own way. Maybe that's sharing a memory or reaching out to a former competitor or coach. Whatever you do, take a moment to reflect and honor the sport and all that it has become.

With gratitude and excitement for WBTD,
Sandi Wiemers
IBTF President

Celebrate the 5th anniversary of #WorldBatonTwirlingDay with this year's theme, 'Unity.' This is the one day each year that baton twirlers from across the world join forces to show the rest of the world just how wonderful the sport of baton twirling really is.
