Easter Mass Update
following Government Decision

1 April 2021
Easter News & Blessings from the Carmelites

We offer our sincere thanks for the hospitality and support of the Mount Carmel community welcoming and supporting Fr Martinho in his new role as parish priest.

Br Matthew left Coorparoo, following last weekend, to make preparations for his ordination on the 17th of April in Middle Park (livestreamed: https://youtu.be/ntXEdkLkHlM). We look forward to his planned return in early May and celebrating with him on the weekend of the 8th/9th May.

In the meantime, Bishop Bill will support Fr Martinho with ministry in the parish, assisting with the celebration of masses in the parish. Fr Martinho will have a short break following the Easter weekend along with the closure of the parish office next week. As such there will be no morning Mass celebrated on Monday and Wednesday next week at Mt Carmel and Bishop Bill will celebrate the Thursday and Friday morning Masses. There will be Communion Service  in the sacristy on Tuesday morning.

Once again we are grateful for the community’s understanding during this time of transition and the uncertainty at this time.

Offering you blessings of peace, joy and safety as we celebrate Easter united by our faith in the risen Christ.

Holy Week Update: Following the government’s decision to finish the lockdown on Thursday the following will be Holy Week at Mt Carmel:
Holy Thursday: Mass Cancelled.
Good Friday: Church will be open from 10am – 4pm for private prayer.  There will no ceremonies on this day.
Easter Vigil: 7pm Mass
Easter Sunday: 8 30am Mass.
For the time being whilst at the church - we must wear a mask, register – QR code or sign on, sanitise as you enter the church and maintain social distance.

Blessings to us all as we continue on the path of Holy Week with Jesus and one another.  May we all find the road that "has our name written in its stones".
