Lifestyles & Footprints - Next Steps
10 days since Lifestyle Spring Clean week and we’re reflecting on the week’s successes and next steps for quality of life and saving CO2.
We’ve selected and contacted our prize draw winners including the e-bike! Watch this space for the announcement of winners in Mid April.
Did you enjoy the week and are you looking for next steps? One of the best ways to resource yourself is through one of our light & easy courses over three evening or morning sessions - more details below.
Most Popular Moments
The most popular themes of Lifestyle Week were cycling, food and insulation, especially when it was about our beautiful local area! These all have great potential for raising wellbeing while saving money and being good for the planet too. Positive feedback from dignitaries and participants included:
“We can all make a difference to our own carbon footprint and feel good in doing so!” MP Selaine Saxby
“Many people today are acutely aware of the need to protect our environment, but few are aware of the great benefits this can bring for our communities, wildlife and indeed happiness and wellbeing.”
Councillor Judy Pierce
“Letting-go-of-guilt has freed me up to such an extent, I’m now making better choices. Buying from local farms shops more, and supermarkets less, means we are using less plastic, have a cupboard full of lovely-looking jars with food in, and I see more people in the village for a chat (not to mention exercise carrying the bags home!)” Annie, Braunton
Winners
The prize draw winners of an e-bike and lots of eco prizes have all been drawn and contacted by email. We still have not heard from two winners, so if you entered the competition please check your junk mail. There’s a lovely story about the winner of the e-bike, which we can’t wait to share with you in our next mailing!
Next steps
If you’re feeling inspired and want an easy way into more actions that raise well-being and save CO2, why not think about taking one of Carbon Savvy’s light and easy courses, starting mid April. Easy Carbon Cutting and Quality of Life the Carbon Savvy Way, both running over three 1.5hr sessions over three weeks, with no homework, and are positive, light and enjoyable.
One course participant said; “Switching my mindset from ‘I’m not doing enough’ to ‘this will make a difference’ has a really powerful impact. And it’s thanks to this wonderful course that I’ve been able to make this switch.”
