What's New?
March is gone, and I am one step closer to moving to Guyana! There have been some hiccups along the way, however, I continue to stop and praise God for the support and partnerships I have seen come in. One of the greatest lessons I am learning in this season of transition is the importance of timing. When you fully submit to God's control over your life it is no longer about your timetable, but the Lord's. This is a challenging thing to submit to and sit back in, but when you act in obedience the Lord is faithful to provide.
For those that do not know, I was managing a coffee shop here in Cape Coral up until December of 2020. I felt the Lord was asking me to step away from that to focus on my support raising for Guyana. Tho that was part of it, this past month God has shown me areas of my life; if you become too busy, you will neglect spending time with God. He longs for us to have intimacy with Him. I realized that I had been putting all my effort towards calling churches and individuals, sending emails, and mailing support letters that I had not been focusing on myself and my own growth. The Lord used the story of the Israelites to get me to see that. Every sermon I would hear, every devotional I would read, somehow pointed towards the Israelites journey towards the Promise Land. You have to think why would the Israelites complain so much about being in the Wilderness, since they knew God was taking them towards the Promise Land. After all the miracles the children of Israel had seen God do in Egypt, including the parting of the Red Sea so that they could walk through on dry land, they still complained so bitterly that God heard a constant rumbling from their encampment. I did not fully understand all of this groaning before I began walking through my own wilderness. The wilderness, when you change your perspective, allows you the opportunity to focus on the Provider more than the provision. The Israelites had so many provisions in Egypt that they overlooked the Provider. Stepping into the wilderness allows you the opportunity to experience the provisions and see the Provider. The wilderness feels very dry for the Christian, however, it presents opportunity to deepen your maturity and understanding of who God is.
