Pierre Auguste Renoir (spelling correction)

The Dance at Bougival
Here is a great website that has HIGH RESOLUTION IMAGES if you'd like to download these and save in your April folder to work from
https://atsunnyside.blog/2018/12/27/herzogtum-sachsen-weissenfels-ludwig-van-3/

Scroll down and click on any image. There is a VIEW FULL SIZE option then right click and save to your folder. Some have a DOWNLOAD high res image option.

Also a great article on Renoir and this painting

A short clip on PREPARING your SURFACE
I will be doing a drawing demo at the beginning of Tuesdays class but If you'd like to do a quick rough draft or NOTAN before Tuesday to work out the values and simple shapes you can use the image below! Look for 3 main values and omit all details!

This would be a great exercise!!
Notan is a Japanese term which literally means "light dark harmony". Artists use "notan studies" to explore different arrangements of light and dark elements in a painting, without having the distraction of other elements like color, texture and finer details.
