Newton Market Fast Facts

Some of our clients have asked us about rental options in Newton.  We visited Trio in Newtonville, on the corner of Washington and Walnut.  We were given a tour by the leasing director Carrie Bush.  The 140 units all have the same finishes, with white kitchen cabinets, white countertops, and an open floor plan. There is in-unit laundry. We saw the spacious, well equipped gym with a separate yoga/meditation area. There are two large common rooms, one with a pool table. There are also two exterior decks and one has gas grills and a prep area for outside dining. These brand-new units start at $2,290 per month for a small studio and go up to $4,650 per month for a two bedroom with two bathrooms. Parking is underground for an additional fee.  And yes, they have a dog washing station in the lower level.

Trio consists of three separate buildings.  CVS and The Barn are already open.  Soon the Italian restaurant Mida and the vegetarian restaurant Clover will open their doors and will offer plenty of outside seating in the expansive patio area between the three buildings.  I think it will be a popular spot for dining.

As many people are aware, this Spanish Style house has been on-and-off the market for a number of years. The house is right across the street from Bullough’s Pond.

The home was tenanted, so there were no interior viewings before the bidding began. The entire auction lasted less than 10 minutes, with the eventual winner, Kenny, getting the home for $1,540,000.

We spoke with Kenny about his plans for the home, but before he can do anything he will have to complete title work. As with any auction, there is a good chance that the home ultimately does not close. We shall see!
