Despite the challenges we faced fundraising this year resulting from the COVID crisis, we were able to raise the extra funds required to meet the needs of the students during lockdown. We increased our donations and outcomes. Thanks to our supporters, Board members, and families and friends, our total for donations was twice last year’s. Thank you to all who made our work possible.

We have paid for the first half acre and are now fundraising for the rest.
Our plans for the land is to restore and enrich the soil, and design an environmentally sound and pleasant space. Andrew Sidford Architects is designing a sustainable learning and Technology and Learning Center for the land. We purchased land in February to build an expansive, environmentally sustainable, center for children. The building will include a technology lab, learning spaces, creative arts and design areas. The youth are designing the landscape to plant trees for shade and for fruit, as well as planting corn, sweet potatoes and beans.

We have employed a local team of talented, caring people. These include our dedicated and creative long serving teachers, Rose and Rhoda, and Bonaventure. Bonaventure guides their efforts. He is a multi-talented leader who builds strong relationships with the local schools and the community we serve.

Thank you to our donors who funded these new robust and powerful tablets to supplement the XO laptops. We continue to add used MacIntosh machines full of learning activities donated by Glen Urquhart School.

Crucial to building young leaders, are those of you who have paid tuition for our scholars. These are high performing students emerging from Bonaventure's supportive guidance. We now have one in college, two more graduating this year and three others coming along.

UPCOMING EVENTS:

We are planning a late June 'Spring Out' event, outdoors and socially distanced. It will be an afternoon on Water Street, Newburyport. There will be music, crafts, art, food, auction items for summer outdoor adventures.
