USC Libraries Reopening Plans
Spring 2021

We’re excited to begin welcoming Trojans back to your campus libraries. Reservations are now available for limited-capacity study sessions in some libraries and research with archives and special collections in Doheny Library.

Please review the Trojan Commitment to protecting ourselves, our peers, and our community. Face coverings, physical distancing, and adherence to health guidelines are required in library spaces.

We continue to prioritize digital and remote programs and services as we work with campus partners, who in turn are working with county health officials, on plans for further reopening.

The Science of Citizen Science

This open access book discusses how the involvement of citizens into scientific endeavors is expected to contribute to solve the big challenges of our time, such as climate change and the loss of biodiversity, growing inequalities within and between societies, and the sustainability turn. The field of citizen science has been growing in recent decades. Many different stakeholders from scientists to citizens and from policy makers to environmental organizations have been involved in its practice. In addition, many scientists also study citizen science as a research approach and as a way for science and society to interact and collaborate. Access The Science of Citizen Science here!
Monitoring Environmental Contaminants

This volume in the Environmental Contaminants Series provides an overview of a wide range of monitoring approaches ranging from citizen science networks to the use of robotics and sensor networks. Monitoring Environmental Contaminants describes challenges in the adoption of some of these new approaches and methods for dealing with these challenges such as the use of mining techniques for large data. The case studies within will provide a thorough illustration for researchers, academics, and scientists involved in ecology and environmental sciences. Access Monitoring Environmental Contaminants here!
