Fire Destroys the home of Brendan Pratt & Amanda Bews.
Smoke detectors saved their lives.

In the early hours of Easter Monday, Pr Brendan Pratt, his wife Amanda Bews and sons Brad (19), Ben (17) and James (14) lost their house in a fire. The fire escalated so quickly that Amanda, Brendan, and their boys only managed to escape with the clothes on their backs. Everything perished in the fire, including their pets.

Brendan is the Ministerial Association Secretary and Amanda is the Resource Development Coordinator at the Australian Union Conference in Victoria. They give so much of themselves for their jobs and furthering the kingdom of God, and pre-COVID their sons would volunteer their time to help around the office.

The Pratt/Bews family are a special bunch who always bring joy to those they come in contact with and now we are wanting to give you the opportunity to give back to them in this difficult time.

We are calling for donations big and small to help the beautiful Pratt family. There are currently two ways you can provide assistance:

The first is a GoFundMe page (click button below).

The second is to donate funds through the AUC bank account; please ensure you put PRATT as a reference so that our team can know where to direct the funds.

The AUC bank account details are:
Name: SDA Church (AUC) Ltd
BSB: 033 382
Account: 227438
Reference: PRATT

It will be a long road ahead for Brendan, Amanda and the children, however, any immediate assistance will be much appreciated.

Please continue to uphold them in prayer during this difficult time.

Women have a lot to juggle. From personal and family life to careers and spiritual growth, sometimes it feels like the work never ends. We’ve got resources and a support system to make your life easier and more fulfilling as you connect with others, yourself and God.

Health and wellness programs, women’s events, meetups, prayer conferences and retreats—the Greater Sydney Conference Women's Ministries Department has a full range of women’s programming.

Adventist Women encourages women to improve their potential
and participation in the mission of the Church and provides a support system
and forum for women in and out of the church.

ADRA Blacktown Food Pantry

ADRA Blacktown Food Pantry is running low on food supplies

They need any long-shelf-life food, but the most useful items are:

  • Canned Tuna
  • Long Life Milk
  • Cereal
  • Canned Vegetables
  • Canned Fruit
  • 2 Minute Noodles
  • Pasta
  • Pasta Sauce
  • Biscuits (any)
  • Spreads (peanut butter, jam, honey, cheese spread)
Bring your donations to the box in the church foyer, and everything will be delivered to ADRA each week.

Frozen Meals:
another opportunity to serve ADRA Blacktown:
Those working in the ADRA Blacktown centre would really appreciate frozen prepared meals so when people come in off the street hungry they can heat a meal up and give it to them.
  • Suggestions include: curries and rice, soups, pasta dishes, etc.
  • Please add a label saying what it is, and the ingredients.
  • Bring to church on a Sabbath, and we will store in our freezer, and Richard Hurrell will take them to ADRA Blacktown during the week.
  • If you need containers, or for more information, please contact Susan Davis.
Thank you for caring for those who are less fortunate.
