Hello everyone,

Today marks the first day of our Virtual Gala campaign!

Will you help me provide survivors with crucial funding for emergency housing, legal advocacy, therapy, and other basic needs?

This year marks ten years since Chaya and the API Women & Family Safety Center united as one organization to support survivors and strengthen communities. API Chaya continues to provide free and confidential, culturally responsive support to survivors of domestic violence, sexual violence, and human trafficking, serving over 1000 clients speaking over 38 different languages, and reaching over 12,000 in leadership development programs to end abuse and oppression.

Your support for API and immigrant survivors is more critical than ever!

Donate to the Gala

You can donate today towards critical services, or select “Become a Fundraiser” to fundraise as one of our incredible Table Captains. Please help us reach our $400,000 goal to ensure we have the flexible funds to respond to the changing needs of our clients and programs. Every Friday this month we will offer benefits to early donors from t-shirts, to artwork, trivia, and more! Give early and get more! Donate today, April 2nd, and get an API Chaya t-shirt!

API Chaya’s Virtual Gala 2021: Unity Comes Full Circle takes place on Saturday, April 24th, from 6-8pm online. There will be a 30 minute Cocktail Reception with a Staff Q&A, followed by a live program featuring stories from API Chaya’s clients and staff, cultural performances, fund-a-need games, keynote speaker Tani Ikeda who founded Survivor Love Letter, and more. Founding members Sarah Rizvi and Alice Ryan will be our co-hosts, sharing about building Chaya and the Safety Center.

Register for the Gala

If you haven't yet registered for the gala, please do that soon! You can also support by sharing our Facebook Event and let your friends know you’re “going” to our virtual gala. Follow our social media for Monday, Tuesday, and Friday updates to Unity's story to get a better picture of a client engaging with our services and programs.

"OUR GALA CAMPAIGN STARTS TODAY! The first 75 people to donate today, April 2nd, will receive a free t-shirt." on a purple cloud. Top left under the cloud is an orange blob with a tshirt doodle and the text "FRIDAY DONOR BENEFITS!" A brown API Survivor and her two kids are in the same formal wear from above photo, but they are making silly faces and the mother (Unity) is giving bunny ears to one of her kids. Text on the bottom cloud says "Donate to API Chaya's Gala at apichaya.org/gala"

Feel free to contact LeMing at nat@apichaya.org directly for details.

Warmly,

LeMing
