Sugaring season was short for many sugarmakers but the jury is still out on how the season will end overall. Birds are returning and the first coltsfoot are emerging in the Champlain Valley. We hope you and your families have stayed healthy. Thanks to everyone who joined WOW-VT’s Tool Time discussion! We had a great conversation about tools and pieces of equipment that are useful for woods and yard work. We compiled all the items that were brought up by the group with related links for your reference in The Tool Time List.

You and women landowners across the eastern United States have an incredible new resource at your fingertips in the form of the Women on the Land: A Landowner's Guide to Stewarding her Woodlands. This publication identifies and addresses some of the most common questions, goals, and challenges women landowners voiced about land stewardship and forest management.

Finally, we hope you’ll join us for some exciting upcoming events on invasive plants and stream health and trout habitat. Spring is on its way!

Facing Invaders:  WOW Invasive Discussion
Wednesday, April 28
6:30pm – 7:30pm

Women Owning Woodlands Vermont will host a learning opportunity about invasive species management.  The program will start with a short presentation on strategies to manage and control invasive plant species addressing why we care, where to start, whom to call and how to make a plan. Then, we will dive into the details of identification and treatment options for honeysuckle and buckthorn (other species to follow at a future session on May 12th). There will be time for open discussion where you can ask questions and share your experiences, and we can all learn from each other.

Register in advance for this meeting: After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.
