This summer, Emmanuel is hosting science camps for children age 4 years through 6th grade.  Kidventure 2021 is offsite at community parks on June 3rd, June 8th or June 10th from 6:00-8:00 pm each evening.  Families are welcome to drop In and experience science together.

Then we will host camp onsite at Emmanuel on June 15th-17th from 6:00-8:30 pm with the final evening ending with a special family event.

Kids will have fun making things, taking things, and breaking things!  They will learn how fun science can be!

We hope your child(ren) will join in the fun this summer with Emmanuel!

This Sunday, during all three worship hours, kids age 4 years – 2nd grade will leave the sanctuary, after they have been excused, to go to the Kidz Chapel for a lesson and activities that will reinforce Pastor Jim’s sermon.  Any questions, please email Ruth Ann Gillespie, Children's Ministry Director at ragillespie@emmanuelumc.org. Next Sunday there will be children's programming during all three Worship hours.

Beginning April 11, the kids in Children’s Ministry Christian Formation hour at 9:55 will be learning that Jesus showed His love for us at Easter!  Just like kids get excited about seeking out hidden eggs on Easter morning, we will be using Easter eggs to learn about what Jesus did at Easter to seek us out and show us His love.  Our memory verse will be:  God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son.  Anyone who believes in him will not die but will have eternal life.”  John 3:16

For children age 0 – 3 years, the Nursery is open during all services and the volunteers are provided with a lesson and craft/activity for the children that reinforce God’s love for each one of us.

All Church Spring Clean-up day - Saturday, April 17. All ages welcome and we will have work to do! Clean up of property & grounds.

April 20th is our next blood drive in Fellowship Hall.  Click HERE or on the picture to register for your time slot!  You can also call Krischelle at the church office.  There are 13 appointments still available.
HENDERSON SETTLEMENT WORK CAMP MISSION TRIP

SEPTEMBER 26-OCTOBER 1, 2021
PLEASE SAVE THE DATE

The Henderson Settlement Work Camp mission trip is an Emmanuel UMC-sponsored work mission trip, however, the workload is light for persons with limited physical strength and endurance.

At this point in COVID-19 TIME, EUMC is tentatively scheduled for our 34th annual Henderson Settlement Work Mission Trip for the week of September 26-October 1, 2021.  Safety is always a concern. We will continue to monitor what the safety guidelines are for travel and staying at the Settlement.  Last year when we were there, there were no reported COVID cases in the Settlement area.

The cost for the trip this year will be $250, plus transportation (carpooling). The Missions Committee will provide financial support for up to one-half of the trip fee for the Emmanuel Fellowship. Trip applications will be available around August 1, 2021.  Proof of personal medical insurance and the trip fee is required with the application.  The EUMC Missions Committee will also provide for a Wednesday night Team dinner, perhaps at McCloud’s Mountainview Restaurant.

Henderson Settlement (Frakes, Kentucky), is a mountain outreach ministry of the Red Bird Missionary Conference of the United Methodist Church.  The Settlement has a number of outreach and construction ministries where volunteers are needed. I will look at several on-campus carpentry projects this summer and there is always work in the Community Store sorting room.  The EUMC Missions Committee will provide an additional $1500 for our project materials.

Please call or text Lamar Ziegler, Trip Leader, (317-432-4621),  laziegler48@gmail.com for more information.

CELEBRATE AND SUPPORT YOUR CHURCH FAMILY

  • Thank you to all of those who helped out with the Egg Hunt last Saturday.  It was very successful and had almost as many drop-ins as kids that were registered.  Events like this that reach OUT into the community are not successful without the volunteers from the church that help make it happen!
  • Thank you to all those who are volunteering to serve during the Easter Services tomorrow.  There is a lot that goes into Worship Service planning and those dedicated to serving the church in this manner are greatly appreciated.
  • If you would like to THANK someone in the church community for doing something in your life this week, please email Communications@emmanuelumc.org and we will make sure and get it in the newsletter.

 WEEKLY PRAYERS

CLICK HERE for this week's PRAYER GUIDE.

To add or update your prayer requests and/or praises, please contact Sue Redwine at sredwine572@gmail.com or submit them via the website at PRAYER REQUESTS. Requests received by 6 PM on Wednesday will be included in the Prayer Guide for the following week. If you have an urgent need, please contact the church office at 317-773-4406.
