Purchase at Dancing Crow Vineyards

Three short weeks ago I promoted another Rosé/Old Vine Field Blend combination (Post & Vine). Coincidence? Kinda...I love my Rosé wines more than Reese's Peanut Butter Eggs, and I find Old Vine Field Blends the most intriguing wines California has to offer. If you did buy the Post & Vine wines, good job. Now back it up with these two dandies from Dancing Crow. Think of the wine tasting parties you can have!

Dancing Crow is a leader in the California value-driven premium wine category. It is family-owned and operated with Tony Cartlidge (Co-founder, Cartlidge & Browne - sold it in 2011) at the helm. They're a Napa Valley winery with vineyards in Lake County. They plan to build a winery on one of their Lake County vineyards in the near future.  Join me on a trip to Dancing Crow Vineyards next Saturday, April 17. Details below.

The Dancing Crow Rosé, Lake County 2020 ($20) is 83% Syrah, grown with Rosé intent, and 17% Sauvignon Blanc. Smell it and you'd think it's from Provence - dried herbs, peppercorns, citrus zest, not fruity. Berries, plums and deep orange flavors plus a round, pleasing texture come through in the taste, signaling a classic California character. And dry - very dry.  Full review.
Watch my Dancing Crow Rose video below.

Dancing Crow "Old Stake 1901 Vineyard" 2018 ($33)
is a field blend of 32 (yes, 32) grapes, with an emphasis on Zinfandel, Alicante Bouschet and Cinsault. The vines date back to 1901. They grow together, get picked together then fermented together. Fresh, briary red fruits, French cooking herbs and black pepper are initial impressions. Let it breathe and witness its transformation into a deep, rich, spicy, layered red wine. What do you think, 3 Old Stakes or 1 hundred dollar Napa Cab?

I don't take payment nor commission from the wineries I promote. Except wine, that is, which is perfect because I only recommend wines I like to drink
My emptied bottle of Rosé at my Easter table.

Unscrewing the Dancing Crow Rosé. I filmed this on Saturday. Saved the rest of the bottle for our Easter festivities. I wish it had made it to my Spring Favas & Peas Risotto course, but not even close.
Here's the Road Trip I'm talking about.
