Although we eagerly anticipate a return to in-person audiences at the Capitol Theatre, we are still in a holding pattern. For scheduled events for which we hope to be able to welcome an audience, we will provide updates as they arise and post changes to the events as they are decided. All streamed events will proceed as advertised regardless of updates!

Beyond the Legal Limit is a theatrical performance with music based on the adaptation of Pat Henman’s memoir of the same name.

On a sunny Sunday afternoon in June 2013, performer and singer Pat Henman, was driving home on the highway with her 19-year-old daughter, Maia, when they were struck head-on by a drunk driver. Although both survived, their physical injuries still remain, and the emotional toll on their well-being and that of their family has become a story that inspired Pat to share in the only way she knew how—on stage with songs that expresses the intensity and the joy of a life changing event.

Part story-telling, part concert, Pat tells the story of trauma and recovery in this unique and passionate one act drama with music, while embracing the many colours of survival presented on stage with her words, adapted by Canadian playwright and Genie Award nominee, Kelly Rebar, and original music by Canadian musician and composer, Konrad Pluta. Theatre Director, writer and performer, Tracey Power is well known as a BC artist, with her recent premier of GLORY, inspired by the true story of the Preston Rivulettes, winning the Betty Mitchell Award for Outstanding New Play.

Pat is joined on stage by two artists who are from Nelson as well, Sydney Black and Robyn Lamb.

RESPIRED is a collaboration between musician and dancer. Using the cyclic nature of lived experience, and reflecting on individualism verses the collective, loops are established that repeat in various forms. Allowing improvisation and the breath pattern to influence movement and soundscape, these loops can evolve into inspiration and changed perspective, and give opportunity to begin again.

Join us for an evening of live dance and music with dancers Glynis Waring, Slava Doval and Amanda Papailhau and multi-instrumentalist Nella Banner!

Me, Myself & Ireland
Premieres April 16th at 7:30 pm, remains available until April 23rd at midnight
This is a streamed event

A cabaret performance by local musician and actor Robyn Lamb! This is her story of moving to Ireland alone at Christmas…

Robyn’s tale of freedom with a dash of complete loneliness includes a variety of jobs – a fish and chip shop, The Irish version of The Dollar Store “Dealz,” and an Italian restaurant in an awful hotel – as well as hilarious (and sometimes horrifying) dates. It’s a love story with so many jokes along the way.

This entertaining romp is told partially through songs from the Muppets, Joni Mitchell, Disney, Rodgers and Hammerstein and more! A story about living life to its fullest, with the help of some special surprise guests.

This show will be presented as a streamed event!
