Please keep an eye out closer to start times.
Please also remember, that once restrictions are lifted, on training nights even in poor weather, the bar in the Clubhouse will be open, so don't cancel your plans completely, a warm welcome is waiting for you!

Junior Cricket

How they finished in 2020

U15's

Due to Covid-19, it was decided that as a Club, we wouldn’t enter an U15s team into the League for the 2020 season. However, many of these very able young cricketers still manged to get plenty of time pitch side, ‘playing up’ in the U17s, 2nds/3rds, 1st XI and the T20 teams. We also manage to arrange some friendlies with local teams, giving the opportunity for a few a the U15 fringe players a chance to shine, with them opening both the batting and bowling - and shine they did, with some very memorable performances, but most importantly smiles and laughter from both players and parents. Many thanks to Eagley CC and Farnworth Social Club CC for taking the time to come along and give us some great cricket!

Four of the U15s also managed to spend a week at Neston CC on the Wirral in July, in a tournament organised by Pro Cricket Academies. The standard of cricket was very high, with most of the players at District cricket standard or above. Our players did themselves and the Club proud, winning three Man of Match trophies over the course of the 5 days, and praise from the tournament organisers regarding both their ability and their conduct. Neston CC has some of the best cricket facilities in North West, and it was a great to watch all of our lads grow into the tournament and come away from the experience as much better players.

U17's

Egerton CC U17s 2020 Table

The U17s League struggled to gain any momentum due to a mixture of the weather and also cancelled matches due to cases of Covid-19 in other teams. As with the U15s, our U17s ‘played up’ and showed themselves to be very capable, they are the future of our Club and will been given every opportunity to show their talent in the Senior teams.

Get Involved

So much goes on in the background to make Egerton Cricket Club run as smoothly as it does.
When you turn up at the Club to watch a match, the wicket has been prepared, the outfield has had a final cut, the bar is open, the Clubhouse is clean and well presented, the ouside areas have had the bins emptied and a freshcoat of paint has been applied to those areas that need it. There are a core of dedicated people working to keep our Club facilities in great condition, but they can’t do it all on their own!

You don’t need a skill or a talent to help out, just a few hours a week, or even from time to time would make a massive difference to those volunteers already giving up a bit of their time; if you think you would like to get involved, please let us know by sending an email howzat@ergertoncc.co.uk and we will forward on your details to the Grounds Team. Or just turn up on the off chance someone is on the Ground and go and introduce yourself - you will be made more than welcome, and you will be put to good use!
