Dear <<First Name>>,
The next round of the work party hokey-cokey is on the horizon!
So - dust off your gloves, kick that spider out of your wellies and give your whole self a shake about, ready for a new work party turn around the Eden catchment.
In line with the Government road map, we will be returning to practical work parties after Easter, using limited group sizes and social distancing measures to keep everybody safe.
We will have missed the end of the tree planting season but there is a real backlog of work to do as we head into spring and summer.
Winter storms have flushed out discarded litter to end up in backwaters and on the river banks, tree guards protecting previous plantings from the advances of hungry rabbits need to be removed before they strangle the trees, and the dreaded Himalayan balsam will begin to make an appearance - putting up the first innocuous-looking leaves in May.
We will venture out to new sites and revisit some old ones; there will be training opportunities, special events and a new volunteer challenge for 2021.
You will get to reconnect with a great bunch of people in some beautiful locations and help ERT care for the special place that is our local river catchment - ‘cos that’s what it’s all about!
The new programme of volunteer work parties will start on Thursday 15th April - see below!
It was lovely to see so many of you at our virtual Volunteer Celebration event back in February. If you couldn't join us on the night, you can watch the event at your leisure on our YouTube Channel
See you soon!
Best wishes,
Jenni
