Good Friday Walk of Witness
This year, the cross will be carried reverently from Piccadilly at 11am down the High St to the Market Sq. There will be no procession, but if you are able, please stand reverently and silently at the side of the road - socially distanced - and as the cross passes, bow your head. Thank you and God Bless.

Holy Week & Easter
We're delighted that St James, Great Horwood, and St Laurence, Winslow, are re-opening for public worship from Palm Sunday. Palm Sunday marks the start of Holy Week and after having to close the churches last year for Holy Week (and of course Easter), it will be wonderful to be back in church. We are continuing to provide online worship alongside in-church worship during Holy Week, specifically on Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Day.
If you are planning on attending an Easter Day service at St Laurence, Winslow, please add your name to the sign-up sheet on the table inside the church door or phone Chris Ryalls on 712029. This will help us to manage capacity - thank you.

Some people spend their whole lives trying to discover what is important and valuable – what really matters in life. Some stumble across it almost by accident.

'He plumbs the depths of our own alienation from God and takes upon himself the consequences of all our wrong choices. He shows us what sacrificial love looks like. He offers forgiveness. He forgives the soldiers who nailed him to the cross. He reaches out to the criminals who hang beside him. He forgives us. What looks to the world to be a wretched and meaningless defeat - one more death among so many - turns out to be victory. It is the victory of love and forgiveness over hatred and resentment... as we know, if we have been wronged, no one can forgive the perpetrator on our behalf. Or, if they do, that forgiveness has no currency. Only the victim has the power to forgive. So, Jesus becomes the victim.'
Archbishop Stephen Cottrell in Dear England
