The beach never ceases to amaze...my first rainbow cloud!

Watercolor Session

I had a painting moment in Florida and I literally had no pre-conceived plan.  My sister was on a lengthy Zoom call and I thought I would indulge myself in watercolor.  I grabbed my 5x7 Strathmore watercolor cards and just "winged" it.  Have you ever just "winged it"?  Well, I did and here's the result.

The first card is a repeat of my watercolor edge painting.  The difference with this one is that I didn't like my splatters that were too dark onto the white space.  Rather than chuck the "failure," I fussy cut the edges of the watercolor and re-affixed them onto fresh cardstock!  So happy with that option.

The next version is a 5x7 size and I like the teals in this.  The beauty of this technique is you can pick 3-4 colors in the same color family and they will all work well together.  Splatters are just water droplets.
The next card is a version of blob flowers that takes up the entire 5x7 surface.  There is at least 3 colors on the flowers starting with light to dark.
I can't decide whether to leave the card front blank or add the diecut word (it's just laying over the card front).  I'm leaning toward leaving it blank.
I love teals, especially being at the beach!  This version is definitely more "blobby" and random.  This one is speaking to me to put a diecut word over the green stem area, or even a word block that is cut into a small rectangle.  Guess I just decided this one isn't finished!
This is a true blob flower card.  My issue with it is I got carried away with the splatters.  I will add a black sentiment to draw the eyes down and away from the top. Hmmm, another card needing a little somethin' somethin'.
Favorite card of the bunch!  No sketching, just painting!

Have a pleasant week!

XOXO
